Honda Center Is Improving Security

New metal detectors at Honda Center

New metal detectors at Honda Center

By Michael Walters

When Anaheim Ducks fans and event goers have visited Honda Center in the past, they were greeted by a Honda Center employee that would wand them prior to entering the arena. The regulars know the drill of taking all items out of their pockets and/or having to open their purses for inspection. Now as an added security measure, metal detectors are going to be used at all the entrances of the Honda Center.

So when will the metal detectors be first used?

According to a Ducks team source, the metal detectors will first be used starting on August 20th, 2015. They will be used for all events, not just Ducks home games. So plan accordingly before going to your next event or Ducks game at Honda Center.

Here is a video with Phil Hulett explaining the new procedures as Wild Wing enters Honda Center.

Note: All NHL arenas will be using metal detectors for the start of the 2015-16 season. Please visit the website of each individual arena to learn about their own polices and procedures.

Metal detectors will be used at all events not just Ducks games starting August 20th, 2015.

  1. I’m sure this is a result of the bomb that went off I believe at the Chicago game. Shrapnel went everywhere, thank goodness no one was hurt.
