In yesterday’s game between Colorado and Anaheim, Tyson Barrie checked Simon Despres in the boards during the second period. Despres had to leave the game as contact was made with his body and head during the check. He did not return for the rest of the game. The Ducks lost 3-0 to the Avalanche.

The Ducks placed Despres and Clayton Stoner on the injured reserve list. The Ducks called up Shea Theodore and Korbinian Holzer as a result. Both were at practice today and it likely at least one will play in tomorrow’s game against Minnesota.

Barrie was suspended 3 games by the NHL. Barrie left his feet and made contact with Despre’s head causing a suspension to be given.
