As of today, most of the Anaheim Ducks players have gone on a short vacation with the All-Star Game festivities this weekend. Corey Perry and John Gibson are the only Ducks that will partake in the game.
Meanwhile Cam Fowler continues to work to getting back on ice for a game. Today he did an individual workout at the Rinks in Yorba Linda with one of the Ducks coaches. Fowler injured his knee in the Ducks win against the Philadelphia Flyers back on December on 27th. He has missed a month of hockey so far, which is in line with the original 4-6 week prognosis. Fowler has three goals and nine assists in 34 games for Anaheim this season.
Clayton Stoner is still on the injured reserve with a hip flexor issue that has been bothering him for a while. It looks like he might be available next week when the Ducks play the San Jose Sharks or shortly after.
Shea Theodore has been sent to San Diego during the All-Star game. He will likely play in the Gulls game against the Ontario Reign on Friday January 29th. It’s not uncommon for players exempt from waivers to be sent down to the minors during the NHL All-Star weekend to keep their conditioning and skills up.
