Today at the Anaheim Ducks practice, Cam Fowler and Clayton Stoner skated according to Eric Stephens of the OC Register. Ryan Getzlaf was absent due to a family matter. Corey Perry and John Gibson were also not present as they traveled back home from the All-Star weekend festivities. Goalie coach Dwayne Roloson was in net during practice in Gibson’s absence.

Per Stephens, the defensive pairings at practice today were as follows:

Cam FowlerKevin Bieksa

Hampus LindholmJosh Manson

Simon DespresSami Vatanen

Clayton StonerKorbinian Holzer

Fowler and Stoner are still on the injured reserve list. It appears the Fowler is ready to play and may start tomorrow against the San Jose Sharks. More information should be known at the morning skate tomorrow. Shea Theodore was sent to San Diego during the NHL All-Star Weekend, playing in the Gulls’ 0-2 loss to the Ontario Reign. The Ducks have eight defensemen currently with the team, but it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Theodore recalled again this season.

The Ducks currently sit in 4th place in the Pacific Division behind San Jose, Arizona, and Los Angeles. The Ducks are just two points behind Arizona for the 3rd and likely final playoff spot. The Ducks do have two games in hand against Arizona. Anaheim is five points behind second place San Jose and have one game in hand against them. This is a critical week for the Ducks as they play all three teams above them in the Pacific Division standings.
