Today the Anaheim Ducks announced the recall of left winger Harry Zolnierczyk from the San Diego Gulls. He has played in 14 games with San Diego. He registered seven points, four goals and three assists. His +/- was -2 and he had 25 penalty minutes.

With the 20 game suspension of Shawn Horcoff, the Ducks only have 12 forwards active on the current roster. Zolnierczyk is likely being called up as insurance. Zolnierczyk has played in 59 career NHL games total while playing in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and with the New York islanders. He has five goals and four assists for nine points in the NHL.

Other News

Ryan Garbutt will now wear number 16, which was his old number while he played with the Dallas Stars.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliott Friedman, the Ducks could play their make-up game against the Washington Capitals on April 10th. Both teams play the day before and it would be the last game of the season. If the Capitals have the first seed in the Eastern Conference locked up, then they may rest some players in that game. This could work to the Ducks advantage especially if the final game has importance to them in regards to the playoffs.

Update: The Ducks-Capitals game is officially rescheduled to April 10th at 4:30PM PST.
