Chris Wagner was not present at the San Diego Gulls practice today. I received a report that he is headed to the Anaheim Ducks’ practice instead. He could be called up to practice and possibly play. Stefan Noesen was sent back to San Diego.

Wagner has had a crazy season starting in Anaheim, then going to Colorado on a wavier claim. And then recently coming back to Anaheim on another waiver claim. He played in 11 games with Anaheim this season and didn’t record a point. He scored four goals in 26 games with Colorado. Hopefully he sees some ice time and get some goals with the Ducks.

No new injuries have been reported. The Ducks and any NHL team for that matter, can call up an unlimited number of players after the trade deadline according to CBA Article 16.4, which states:

The active roster size is defined: (a) There shall be a maximum of twenty-three (23) Players on each Club’s Active Roster at any one time, provided, however, that, on the date of each season’s Trade Deadline, a Club’s Active Roster may be increased to any number of Players the Club, in its discretion, so determines, subject to Article 50.

NOTE: The limitation is an NHL team can only have 50 players under contract at one time during the entire season (includes NHL and minor league contracts).
