Yesterday the Anaheim Ducks won 3-2 in an overtime thriller against the Winnipeg Jets. Unfortunately for Anaheim, they lost David Perron to a right shoulder injury the team announced today. My friend, Joey Alfieri of TSN Radio, interviewed Bruce Boudreau today and he mentioned Perron will be out for the rest of the road trip. Perron is listed as week-to-week according to Boudreau.

This is a substantial loss for Anaheim because he played so well for the Ducks. In 28 games with Anaheim, he registered eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points and was +12. He was primarily playing on Ryan Getzlaf‘s line until the last two games, in which he played with Brandon Pirri and Rickard Rakell.

Here is a video of the injury.

According to Eric Stephens of OC Register, Perron is on his way back to California for an MRI. Nate Thompson was not on the ice day for a maintenance day. Thompson won’t play tomorrow, but the plan is get him in Thursday’s game against Toronto according to Stephens.

So far there have not been any call ups from the San Diego Gulls at this point in time.
