The Professional Hockey Writers’ Association announced their nominees for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, annually given to the player “who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.”
Andrew Cogliano was nominated from the Anaheim Ducks for the Award. Cogliano has 27 points in 75 games this season. He has nine goals and 18 assists. This is his third time to be nominated for the Masterton Memorial Trophy while playing for the Ducks. Cogliano is the NHL’s current Ironman leader at 697 consecutive games. He hasn’t missed a game in his NHL career. Doug Jarvis is the NHL’s all-time Ironman overall with 964 consecutive games from 1975-88.
