Ducks Injuries Starting To Mount, Players Recalled

The Anaheim Ducks announced several updates about their injured players.

Frederik Andersen

Andersen suffered a concussion during the second period of Anaheim’s win against Calgary. He will not play tonight.

Rickard Rakell

Rakell had a stomach flu and a doctor’s visit revealed an appendicitis. According to Bruce Boudreau, Rakell had his appendix removed. He is out for approximately one week.

Hampus Lindholm

Lindholm is sick and will not play tonight.

Josh Manson

He has an upper body injury and it is not clear if he will play tonight.

David Perron

Perron has a separated shoulder and is not expected to recover for 4-6 weeks dating back to March 20. This means Perron will not likely be back until the end of April or May. He had this to say about the injury:

Kevin Bieksa(Upper Body) and Simon Despres(Upper Body)

Both skated at the morning skate per Eric Stephens of the OC Register. One or both may be in tonight.

Chris Wagner and Anton Khudobin Recalled

As a result of all the injuries Wagner and Khudobin have been recalled. Khudobin has a 3-3-0 record with Anaheim. He posted a GAA of 2.70 and SV% of .908. The Ducks also signed Wagner to a two year extension. Wagner has played in 11 games for Anaheim, recording no points with a +/- of -2. The new contract will pay Wagner $1.275 million according to generalfanager.com and starts in the 2016-17 season.
