Today only a few Anaheim Ducks players hit the ice at Anaheim Ice. Kevin Bieksa(upper body), David Perron(shoulder), and Frederik Andersen(concussion) briefly skated today. It appears that Andersen could return to action this weekend according to Bruce Boudreau.
The Ducks are packed up and ready for Los Angeles.
If Anaheim is able to beat Los Angeles in a regulation tomorrow, then the Ducks would only need to secure one point on Saturday against Colorado to clinch the division. If the Ducks lose in regulation to Colorado, than any loss by the Kings to the Jets on Saturday would also clinch the division for Anaheim.
If the Kings win in regulation on Thursday and win their final game of the season, then they will be Pacific Division champions. In that scenario even if the Ducks won their last two games they would tie LA in terms of points, but the Kings still own the tie breaker. The first tie breaker is based on regulation and overtime wins(ROW), which the Kings have 45 and the Ducks have 41.
If the game Thursday goes to overtime, then regardless who wins, nothing will be decided possibly until both teams play on Saturday. The Ducks still have a game in hand and play Washington on Sunday, which could have importance for Anaheim depending on how the next few games play out.
Buckle your seat beats because tomorrow’s game is going to be intense.
