Today the NHL announced the home openers for the entire league. The Anaheim Ducks will start the season on the road. Here is Anaheim’s known schedule so far:

October 13 at Dallas Stars

October 16 at New York Islanders

October 18 at New Jersey Devils

October 20 at Philadelphia Flyers

In an unusual bit of scheduling, the four above games are the home openers for each opponent. There could be at least one more game on the opening road trip(New York Rangers or Pittsburgh Penguins for example). Having an opening road trip on the east coast is beneficial for the Ducks because it means they will have less distance to travel later in season. The Ducks will likely have more homes games later in the season, which is important when the stretch run for the playoffs begin.

The Ducks will open at home on October 23 against the Vancouver Canucks. The Ducks will be participating in a league high of five home openers in the upcoming season. Below is the list of all NHL home openers. The full schedule for Anaheim will be released tomorrow at 10:00AM PT.
