The Anaheim Ducks(43-23-13) return home to face the Calgary Flames(44-31-4). The Ducks are 3-1-0 against the Flames this season.

Anaheim Outlook

In a weird bit of scheduling, the Ducks play the Flames back-to-back. The Ducks just edged the Flames 4-3 in Calgary and now host them in Anaheim. The Ducks are in first holding a two-point lead over the Oilers, but the Oilers do have one game in hand. Sami Vatanen and Hampus Lindholm both are dealing with upper-body injuries. Vatanen skated this morning and Lindholm did not at an optional practice.

Keys To The Game

The were able to pull out a win late last game against Calgary on Sunday. The Ducks outshot the Flames, won more faceoffs and scored once on the power play. The Ducks will need a similar type effort if they want to beat the Flames two games in a row. The Ducks do need to limit their turnovers, they had 17 in the game this past Sunday.

Calgary Outlook

The Flames battled the Ducks hard last game. They got down early 2-0 but were able to tie up the game in the second period. They were down again in the third period and were able to again tie the Ducks, but they gave up a late goal in the losing effort. Sean Monahan leads the team with 27 goals. Mikael Backlund has 21 goals and Johnny Gaudreau has 18.

Keys To The Game

Calgary got behind early to Anaheim on Sunday and can’t afford to do that if they want two points tonight. The Flames did go two-for-four on the power play in the last contest. They were only able to get 21 shots on net and allowed 34 against. They need to do a better job of getting traffic in front of the Ducks net and firing more shots when possible.
