Today NHL teams revealed their protection lists for the expansion draft. The Ducks protected seven forwards, three defensemen, and one goalie. The protected forwards include Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Ryan Kesler, Jakob Silfverberg, Rickard Rakell, Andrew Cogliano, and Antoine Vermette. Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm, and Kevin Bieksa were the protected defensemen. The Ducks also protected goalie John Gibson, which was expected.

The question for General Manager Bob Murray is how can he prevent Vegas from taking Josh Manson or Sami Vatanen in the expansion draft. There have been several reports that Murray is working on a deal with Vegas GM George McPhee. On this show, we talk about the Ducks situation and how Murray will try to handle it. We also talk about injury updates, the Simon Despres buyout, trades, and the NHL draft.

Yesterday, the Ducks did announce that Nic Kerdiles was signed to a one-year extension. It’s a two-way deal worth $650K/70K per Eric Stephens.
