The Anaheim Ducks(25-17-9) continue their road trip against the Ottawa Senators(15-24-9). The Ducks are 1-0-0 against the Senators this season. The game starts at 4:00 PM PT and will be on Prime Ticket locally and AM 830.
The Ducks beat the red-hot Boston Bruins to start this road trip and are on a three-game winning streak. If the Ducks can win tonight and the Kings lose in regulation, then the Ducks can move into second place in the Pacific Division. It’s going to be a tight race in the Pacific Division for the rest of the season. For more on the playoff race, listen to our recent podcast: Battle For The Pacific.
The Ducks will go with Ryan Miller to start tonight as John Gibson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury he sustained in the win over Boston. Jared Boll was sent down to San Diego today and Reto Berra was recalled.
Keys To The Game
So far the new forward lineups have been working for Randy Carlyle as the Ducks have won their last three games. Anaheim is going to continue to need balanced scoring throughout the lineup to make a strong push in the second half of the season. Anaheim has been able to score more lately, they just need to remember to stay on the gas pedal especially in the third period when they have the lead.
Anaheim’s Projected Lineup:
The Senators are struggling with 39 points and are in seventh place in the Atlantic Division. Ottawa is 3-7-0 in their last 10 games. Mark Stone leads the team with 18 goals and Ryan Dzingel has 14 goals.
Keys To The Game
Ottawa has been having a rough time defensively as they give up 3.40 goals per game which is the second worst in the NHL. They also give up 33.2 shots against per game with is sixth worst in the league. The Senators need to score first and get some momentum going to start this contest.
Ottawa’s Projected Lineup:
