VIDEO: McGrattan Knocked Out, Tokarski Injured

By Michael Walters

Last night during the San Diego Gulls game against the San Antonio Rampage, Brian McGrattan was knocked out during a fight. The fight ended when San Antonio Rampage winger Daniel Maggio landed a right handed punch, appearing to knock McGrattan unconscious. The punch caused McGrattan to fall to the ice without being able to stop his head from slamming into the ice.

According to the Gulls, McGrattan regained consciousness and appeared to be okay.

According to HockeyFights.com, McGrattan has been in 184 fights in his 13 seasons as a professional hockey player. In the offseason McGrattan was signed to a one year deal by Anaheim and assigned to San Diego. He has played 37 games this season, registering five goals and three assists. He has 99 total penalty minutes this season.

McGrattan tweeted out he was fine this morning.

Dustin Tokarski didn’t finish the game either last night due to a lower body injury he sustained when Rampage winger Daniel Maggio collided with him. Simon Despres earned an assist in his second game with the Gulls during his conditioning stint. He assisted Zac Larraza on the first goal of the game. The Gulls did win the contest 2-1.
