Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins. The Ducks battled to a scoreless tie through two periods. In the third, Mason McTavish got Anaheim on the board first. The Bruins countered with two quick goals by Matthew Poitras, his first two career goals. The Ducks pulled John Gibson in the final minutes of the game, but they couldn’t get the game tying score.

Overall the Ducks have been playing well during even strength play, but then not so great on special teams. The Ducks are scoring on average 2.20 goals per game, while giving up 3 goals against on average. Anaheim is 74.1% efficient in killing penalties and 6.7% efficient on the power play. Injury/Team News:

Leo Carlsson is not expected to play tonight. As part of his development plan, General Manager Pat Verbeek wants to rest Carlsson at times in the first half of the season and plans to play him more often in the second half. The plan is to play Carlsson two games a week for the first two months of the season Pierre LeBrun reports. Pat Verbeek already discussed this plan with Carlsson and his agent prior to the start of the season.

Jamie Drysdale (lower body injury) was placed on the IR retro actively to October 15th.

Brock McGinn is on the IR with a lower-body injury. He is listed as day-to-day.

Alex Killorn fractured his finger during a preseason game against the LA Kings on September 27th. He is expected to be out about 4-6 weeks.

Isac Lundestrom suffered an Achilles tendon injury while training in the beginning of July. He had surgery and the return time is about six months.
